London...(Part 1)
We visited London this last weekend, living in the sticks, this is always a cause for excitement in our house. On our arrival the first stop was Tate Britain, and the Picasso exhibition. We looked around the main museum first...
The Cinder Path by Spencer Gore
and then moved on to the Picasso British Modern Art exhibition, unfortunately no photo's were allowed, but just to say it was well worth the visit!
The exhibition includes works by Duncan Grant, Wyndham Lewis, Ben Nicholson, Henry Moore, Francis Bacon, Graham Sutherland and David Hockney. It charts not only Picasso's connection with these artists but also his influence in their works.
After lunch we headed to the V&A, unfortunately another musuem, where no photographs were allowed, I think the highlight of this visit was the Theatre and Performance rooms, which show all the creative stages of producing a performance, from the initial stages through to costume design, set design and production, there is even a glimpse into Kylie's dressing room! As the weather was pleasant and being in London the centre garden of the V&A was a bit of a sun trap, and proved a welcome place to rest for a few minutes...
We headed off to our hotel, which was situated just behind the London Eye, enjoyed a pleasant dinner and an evening walk along the South Bank...
nice to have a day in the Real World isn't it- and even nicer to get back home to Our World!
